Conservation Manitou Acquires 7.5 acres on Lake Manitou, creating the Ann Johnson Reserve

CONSERVATION MANITOU (CM) is pleased to announce that it has purchased 7.5 acres of forested land on the southern shoreline of Lake Manitou. The property was acquired from David Johnson under Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Ecological Gifts Program and the ‘Partenariat pour les milieux naturels’ project for which the Quebec government awarded a grant of more than $53 million. The area will be named the Ann Johnson Reserve to honor the wishes of Mr. Johnson’s wife, Ann (née Bushell), of preserving this land in its natural state.

Mount Rigaud protection moving forward at full throttle

Nature-Action Québec (NAQ) and its partners are pleased to announce the acquisition and protection of an eighteen-hectare (ha) natural environment located on Mount Rigaud within the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Green Corridor. This project adds to the 191 hectares already protected by NAQ on the Monteregian Hill through projects assisting private stewardship and consolidates the protected land in this ecologically important area.
